The Chessboard in Cherry features a simple design that steps back to let players to focus on the game. Lines are kept simple and precise throughout the case. Likewise, the design of the chess pieces is kept simple–focusing on easy to identify silhouettes–that allow the players to focus on the game.
The pieces are made from maple and walnut and are sized to USCF sizing guidelines. The board itself is made from figured maple and walnut veneer attached to a stable substrate. The body of the chessboard is made from cherry. The only finish used is shellac - different applications of shellac are used to create a variety of textures and sheens.
